Surgeon in front of New Brunswick flag

Students with a study permit who are enrolled full time in a university, college or private post-secondary institution will get medicare after they have lived in New Brunswick for three months. There is no fee for medicare, which covers most hospital and physician costs.

The spouses and children of international students will also be covered under the new policy.

New Brunswick’s  new policy means that every province except Ontario and Prince Edward Island offer medicare to international students.

Full details about the program are available on the New Brunswick government website.
