People who have a sister or brother living in Canada now get extra points on their immigration applications through Express Entry. The change affects anyone who has a sibling who is a permanent resident or citizen of Canada. Those people will get an extra 15 points in Express Entry, the main system that Canada uses to recruit and select workers from around the world who want to become permanent residents of Canada. The change took effect June 6, 2017.
